**PHP Security Update – 22 October 2026**

On the 21st October, a serious security vulnerability known as *PHP2Shell* was disclosed, potentially affecting millions of websites worldwide, including those running WordPress. The vulnerability could have allowed hackers to gain unauthorised access, steal information or install malicious software.
**Our hosting partner has confirmed that all necessary security updates have now been completed.**
As an immediate precaution, additional security measures were introduced across their hosting platform while the official fixes were being prepared. These fixes have now been successfully deployed, including protection for websites running older versions of PHP.
**What this means for our customers:**
- Websites hosted with our hosting partner are now protected against these specific vulnerabilities.
- Additional security precautions were put in place ahead of the updates.
- No action is required from customers.
This was a widespread security threat, not an indication that any of our customers' websites were compromised.
We'll continue our usual security monitoring and maintenance to keep our customers' websites protected.
